This is to provide an update regarding Deputy Grand Chief Amos Wesley.
On May 14, 2024, the Mushkegowuk Council of Chiefs determined that Deputy Grand Chief Wesley had breached Mushkegowuk’s code of conduct related to comments made by him. After consideration, the Council of Chiefs suspended him for one month as a result of that breach.
Deputy Grand Chief Wesley has accepted responsibility for his actions and issued a public apology. Deputy Grand Chief Wesley has returned to office as of June 17, 2024. Mushkegowuk considers this matter closed. Mushkegowuk welcomes Deputy Grand Chief Wesley back and looks forward to continuing to working together for the benefit of all Omushkego.
The Council of Chiefs is currently developing a social media policy to provide direction to Mushkegowuk leadership in future.
