CreeFest 2024 has now come to a close for the 21st year in celebrating our culture, language, Arts and music. We followed the path that was laid before us to have CreeFest continue and we want to thank the many years of service that Coordinator Greg Spence has completed.
We also want to make mention the many volunteers, especially the late Kathy Small, who stood with Greg as he embarked on this project in creating one of the greatest gatherings we as Mushkegowuk people come to know and will remember for years to come. It travelled to the communities hosted by each community of Mushkegowuk more than once and will continue to do so in the coming years.
We pay tribute to Greg Spence and the many volunteers and staff that worked along side him in making this a memorable event each year. Greg was presented with a painting and a certificate for his efforts at the 21st CreeFest in Cochrane Ontario, July 24, 2024. A plaque will be made for Greg to signify on behalf of the Political leadership, Council of Chiefs and Mushkegowuk Staff our acknowledgement for his accomplishments in bringing CreeFest to the people.
