RESOLUTION NO. 1987-64

SUBJECT: ONTARIO NORTHLAND RAILWAY

WHEREAS tourism within the Omushkegowuk jurisdiction is closely associated with the Ontario Northland Railways, and;

WHEREAS most of the tour guides employed by the Ontario Northland Railway are not Omushkegowuk, and;

WHEREAS our own people are the prime users of the Ontario Northland Railway, and;

WHEREAS our ultimate goal is to control transportation and tourism within our jurisdiction.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT this Assembly wishes to see Ontario Northland Railway make serious efforts to recruit and train Native staff to serve our people and visitors to our jurisdiction.
