About Mushkegowuk Council
The Mushkegowuk Council is a political and administrative organization that represents and serves the Omushkego Cree communities in Northern Ontario. Established to advocate for the rights, interests, and aspirations of its member First Nations, the Council works collaboratively to enhance community well-being, preserve cultural heritage, and address social, economic, and environmental challenges.

Our Mission
We respond to, and carry out, the collective will of the Omushkego Nation. We foster and provide accountable, responsible political leadership. We strive for excellence in government services. We help improve the quality of life for our people, by providing accessible, equitable, and high-quality support and advisory services to our First Nations in areas including governance, political, spiritual, social and economic development, health, language and culture, environment, technical services and education

We value to be a proud, self‐determining and united Omushkego Nation with healthy and prosperous people, a vibrant Cree language and culture, and sustainably developed and protected lands and waters
