Companies
The Mushkegowuk Regional Economic Development LP, through ownership of company 1928137 ON Inc., owns an office building in Timmins, Ontario, which is tenanted by the Mushkegowuk Council. Our first asset acquisition in 2019. Building an asset base for the regional LP is a key business objective.
Feasibility work is currently underway for property developments and/or acquisitions that respond to current needs for space; including offices, accommodations and housing, that will benefit the Partners.
Project Management of the Police Housing construction project is near complete, with the last unit of ten now being over 60% done. The contractor is aiming to finish construction by the end of this year.
The overall project involved 2 phases with deliverables to have 10 houses constructed in 5 communities, for dedicated use by the Nishnawbe-Aski Police Service. Local procurement of services and supplies was a key approach in implementing the project deliverables.
Winter road season is near and is a time for many of us in the region to restock and maximize sourcing of goods that are normally not regularly accessible in the remote communities.
Great North Builder’s is reminding all customers to plan ahead and contact us to discuss your building projects –big or small. The sooner we can understand your needs, we can ensure we stock inventory accordingly, so that it is available during the winter road season for you. We do have layaway payment options available for those requiring a planned approach to purchasing. We want to help you achieve your construction needs and other project goals.
Our new Commercial & Industrial Supply division will service our First Nation partners for their housing and capital project needs, and all other industry sector. Mining, Energy, and Government Procurement to name a few.

In the last year, we have said farewell to board members Conredge Solomon and Terry Metatawabin (President). Each director’s leadership contributions were meaningful and positively impacted the work achieved to date, as they held a genuine interest and passion to realize the corporate vision of “creating more vibrant, healthy and sustainable First Nation communities”. We wish them well in the excellent work they do for their communities.
Our current directors: Cathy Clement, Stan Kapashesit, and Waylon Iserhoff. By the time this newsletter is updated, we trust we will be able to introduce you to the newest members of the governance team and share more information about the exciting new projects underway.
