RESOLUTION NO. 1987-27

SUBJECT: ENDORSEMENT OF POLITICAL PARTY

WHEREAS the provincial and federal elections give the electorate an opportunity to choose the people who will serve them as members of parliament and make policies or decisions which affect programs and services which we take for granted, and;

WHEREAS these elected representatives always fall short of fully acting on Native concerns and issues affecting our daily lives and fail to encourage any real improvement of services to meet our long-term needs, and;

WHEREAS this Assembly collectively endorses the provincial political party candidate whose views on Native concerns are genuinely aimed at promoting a party policy or mandate which is also fully endorsed by its federal counterpart.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT this Assembly endorse one party in the upcoming provincial election and thereby give direction to our community band members as they choose who to vote for as their MPP (Member of the Provincial Parliament).
