RESOLUTfON NO. 1987-28

SUBJECT: TUITION AGREEMENTS

WHEREAS the Mushkegowuk Council Bands wish to maxi"mize their control over education, not only in their communities but in othP.r towns and cities where their children attend school, and;

WHEREAS the Mushkegowuk Council Bands wish to continue working together to ensure effective teaching and counselling for their students.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Mushkegowuk Council Bands continue to work together to negotiate tuition agreements in Timmins, North Bay and Moosonee, and;

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT Indian parents continue to exercise the right to choose which nigh school is most appropriate for their children to attend, whether in the home communfty, in Moosonee, or in other towns and cities, and;

BE IT FURTHER UNDERSTOOD AND RESOLVED THAT the signtng of a tuition agreement in no way commits Band capital funds.
