Post-Secondary Educational Assistance

RESOLUTION NO. 1987-33

SUBJECT: POST-SECONDARY EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANCE

WHEREAS the Minister of Indian Affairs and Northern Development has imposed unilateral deadlines and cutbacks on post-secondary education assistance across Canada, and;

WHEREAS we, .the Mushkegowuk Council Bands, can only fight such immoral action by working in close co-operation with more broadly based political groups.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Mushkegowuk Council continue to pressure the Minister 6f Indian Affairs and the Government of Canada, through a co-ordinated effort in close communication with the AFN Education Secretariats, Chiefs of Ontario, Nishnawbe-Aski Nation and federal opposition parties, until the Post­Secondary Assistance Program is truly responsive to the needs of our people.
