RESOLUTION NO. 1987-49
SUBJECT: AFN POSITION ON POST-SECONDARY EDUCATION
WHEREAS we never surrendered our traditional lands and aboriginal rights, and;
WHEREAS the treaty of peace and friendship known as Treaty No. 9 guaranteed free education for our people, and;
WHEREAS we consider the post-secondary education program to be an extension of this basic education right and not a matter of government policy.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT this Assembly indicate its full support of the June 1987 Assembly of First Nations resolution on PostÂSecondary Education.
