RESOLUTION NO. 1987-61
SUBJECT: WINTER ROAD BETWEEN KASHECHEWAN AND FORT ALBANY COMMUNITIES
WHEREAS the Ministry of Natural Resources had provided funding last year to construct a winter access road between the communities of Kashechewan and Fort Albany, and;
WHEREAS the Ministry of Natural Resources has advised that no further contributions will be provided for this purpose, and;
WHEREAS this winter road is essential for adequate access to vital medical facilities at Fort Albany.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT this Assembly give full support to the Albany and Kashechewan Bands in their attempt to obtain funding to construct this winter road, and;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT serii6r officials of the Ontario Government be informed that this Assembly considers it essential that an access road between the communities of Albany and Kashechewan be constructed annually.
