RESOLUTION NO. 1987-62
SUBJECT: SOCIAL SERVICES
WHEREAS we have never surrendered our traditional lands and our aboriginal rights, including the right to manage and control our affairs in our own way, and;
WHEREAS the Omushkegowuk are dissatisfied with the present supervision and control of social services by the Province of Ontario.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Assembly direct the individual Band Social Service Administrators to work together to identify their community concerns with respect to social services and develop a proposal on how these concerns can 6e 6est addressed to improve the quality of life for the Omushkegowuk and to enhance the development of selŁf-government, and;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT the Band Social Services Administrators report to the next Assembly on the state of this proposal.
