Mushkegowuk Council - Taso Relations

RESOLUTION NO. 1990-132

SUBJECT: MUSHKEGOWUK COUNCIL -TASO RELATIONS

WHEREAS the Mushkegowuk Council has established as its interest to formally identify the traditional territory of its member First Nations;

AND WHEREAS this initiative will involve researching and recording past and present traditional activities and future economic processes that will lead to greater self­determination through locally and regionally directed traditional and contemporary economic development strategies;

AND WHEREAS the McMaster University TASO Research Programme's (TASO) purpose is advancing rewards of intrinsic value in research and development;

AND WHEREAS TASO's research interests are common to the Mushkegowuk Council's initiative;

AND WHEREAS by invitation, McMaster University's TASO Research Programme has responded by offering both scientific and academic expertise in research and development to the Council;

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT in the spirit of collaboration, the Mushkegowuk Council and the McMaster University TASO Research Programme come together as partners in pursuit of achieving common goals.
