New Post Community Centre

RESOLUTION NO. 1990-142

SUBJECT: NEW POST COMMUNITY CENTRE

WHEREAS there exists no central facility that will accommodate activities such as: recreational activities for youth and children, cultural gatherings and activities, and community gatherings;

AND WHEREAS 46 per cent of New Post's on-reserve population is under the age of eighteen (18);

AND WHEREAS the most important facet of the community centre will be the services it will provide to youth and children;

AND WHEREAS a central facility will ensure that youth and children have a positive outlet for their energy and avoid the alternative of drug and alcohol abuse and destruction of property and crime;

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT Mushkegowuk Council supports New Post First Nation in its endeavours to acquire a community centre for its membership.
