Environmental Quality officer

RESOLUTION NO. 1991-20

WHEREAS a healthy environment is critical to the quality of life for all living things;

WHEREAS the quality of the environment within Mushkegowuk territory must be protected for the future well being of Mushkegowuk members;

WHEREAS there has already been negative impacts on the environment through various forms of pollution (pulp mills, dams, acid rain, P.C.B'S etc.);

WHEREAS the garbage within our communities is not being properly disposed of;

BE IT RESOLVED that this Assembly endorse an environmental audit to accurately reflect the current quality of the Mushkegowuk environment;

BE IT FlNALLY RESOLVED that this Assembly establish an Environmental Quality Program to maintain high environmental standards and to work with the communities to improve the quality of their environment.
