RESOLUTION NO. 1992-02
Subject: Kashechewan/Fort Albany Task Group
WHEREAS the First Nations of Kashechewan and Fort Albany are desirous to deal with and resolve their outstanding issue of dividing their Band revenues and other assets equitably to the satisfaction of both communities;
AND WHEREAS Kashechewan people wish to retain their reserve lands as established by Treaty No. 9 and at the same time is supporting Fort Albany to acquire an adequate land base for its immediate and long term community land use plans.
AND WHEREAS this complex issue may be best dealt with through the offices of the Mushkegowuk Council Chairperson;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT:
A three (3) member task group be appointed to report on this issue in the following manner:
one person be appointed by Kashechewan First Nation;
one person be appointed by Fort Albany First Nation;

one person be appointed by the office of the Chairperson of the Mushkegowuk Council
The terms of reference of this task group shall be prepared by the Chairperson in consultation with and with the support of the two (2) respective communities indicated above.
Financial costs of this task group shall be equitably shared between the three represented parties.
The work of the task group shall be completed within 6 months upon the adoption of this resolution.
