RESOLUTION NO. 1993-12

Subject: Youth Co-ordinator

WHEREAS four health and social service community consultations have identified the need for a greater role for youth in program and policy development and community and regional government;

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that Mushkegowuk Council will seek funding to hire a Youth Coordinator, who would work closely with youth councils throughout the Mushkegowuk region, and to hold workshops, youth assemblies and other related activities;

AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Governments of Canada and Ontario are hereby requested to provide financial support for this important initiative;

AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Mushkegowuk Council will work closely with youth representatives and ensure that these representatives have a majority vote throughout the hiring process.
