RESOLUTION NO. 1993-16

Subject: Hudson James Bay Cree Outfitters Association

WHEREAS hunting and fishing camps are a source of revenue for community members throughout the region;

AND WHEREAS the Hudson James Bay Cree outfitters Association (HJBCOA) has been in existence for the last three years;

AND WHEREAS initial difficulties were experienced due to a lack of control over former staff persons;

AND WHEREAS HJBCOA has done extensive work over the last year, with the assistance of Mushkegowuk Council, to restructure the board, staff and the overall organization of HJBCOA;

AND WHEREAS HJBCOA is now located within the region, has an active board with one camp owner from each community, and is committed to providing assistance to member camp owners throughout the region;

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Mushkegowuk Council hereby recognizes and supports the HJBCOA;

AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Mushkegowuk Council will continue to provide administrative support to HJBCOA at the request of HJBCOA's board of directors.
