RESOLUTION NO. 1993-28

Subject: Moose Factory First Nation Position Re: Mushkegowuk Council

WHEREAS it is the position of Moose Factory First Nation to withdraw from the Mushkegowuk council and its Board of Chiefs and;

WHEREAS it is the position of the Moose Factory First Nation that the Mushkegowuk Council and its Board of Chiefs are directly or indirectly interfering with Moose Factory First Nation self­government initiatives and;

WHEREAS the Mushkegowuk Council and the Board of Chiefs are directly or indirectly jeopardizing these initiatives of self-determination and;

WHEREAS the Mushkegowuk Council and Board of Chiefs are directly or indirectly refusing to recognize the inherent right of the Moose Factory First Nation to apply jurisdiction within its traditional land;

WHEREAS it is the position of the Moose Factory First Nation that this is contrary to the principles of Mushkegowuk Council's Constitution;

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Mushkegowuk council on behalf of the Moose Factory First nation prepare a cost breakdown of all

relevant programme funding received by the tribal council for review by Moose Factory First Nation. Further, that this cost breakdown be specific to Moose Factory First Nation entitlements.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Mushkegowuk Council and its affiliated First nations seek approval from the Moose Factory First Nation on any issues, initiatives, developments, or otherwise affecting the Moose Factory First Nation traditional land prior to implementation.
