SUBJECT: USE OF ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY MATERIALS
WHEREAS the choice of the use of environmentally friendly materials is becoming increasingly challenging;
WHEREAS it is incumbent on us as political leaders to act as positive role models for others to follow;
WHEREAS the International Aboriginal Health and Ecological groups have stated a need to provide training and education on the effects of environmentally dangerous products, such as Styrofoam and Plastic Cups;
WHEREAS Phoebe Sutherland has found fault with the use of such dangerous material to the point where she brings her own Moose Mug to Assemblies;
WHEREAS this Assembly should be more conscious of the issue on the use of such materials;
THEREFOR BE IT RESOLVED that this Assembly recommends that all delegates to future Assemblies be encouraged to bring their own mug and for those who don't that the Council provide mugs for candidates at cost.
