Elders Conference on Treaty Process

RESOLUTION NO. 1994-10-16

SUBJECT: ELDERS CONFERENCE ON TREATY PROCESS

WHEREAS the Inninowuk of the Mushkegowuk Territory are in the critical stage of self evaluation and transition to self­determination;

AND WHEREAS the Elders input into the Treaty process is necessary and valuable;

AND WHEREAS the Elders are the source of criticism, advise, support and strength for the youth, adults and chosen leadership of our society;

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that this Assembly request the Elders to convene and Elders Conference ( in Fort Albany) to provide input into the development of the Treaty Process and Self-Determination as soon as funding can be accessed.
