RESOLUTION NO. 1995-10-14

SUBJECT: MUSHKEGOWUK DECENTRALIZATION

WHEREAS the corporate head office of the Mushkegowuk Council is located in Moose Factory;

WHEREAS by virtue of its Head Office location, all programs, services, agencies and Boards are centralized at the Head Office;

WHEREAS the First Nation Councils of the Mushkegowuk communities have expressed the desire to have programs, Boards and Corporations decentralized to each of the communities;

WHEREAS decentralization enables programs and services to be more accessible to the people in the communities and instills a sense of ownership;

WHEREAS these programs, services, agencies and Boards have First Nation staff from First Nations other than from Moose Factory;

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that as an initial step towards decentralization, Wakenagun Community Futures Development Corporation be relocated to the Fort Albany First Nation territory within twelve months or October 30, 1996.

AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Chiefs develop a strategy to relocate other programs, services, Boards and
