RESOLUTION NO. 1995-10-20
SUBJECT: REUNITING THE CREE NATION
WHEREAS the issue of reuniting the (Cree) Mushkegowuk Nation in Northeastern Ontario has been discussed informally for the past ten years;
WHEREAS on October 24, 1995 the Missanabie Cree and Chapleau Cree First Nations were recognized and accepted into the Mushkegowuk Council membership;
WHEREAS reuniting the (Cree) Mushkegowuk Nation will not be complete until Constance Lake First Nation, Weenusk First Nation (Peawanuck) and Fort Severn First Nation join Mushkegowuk Council;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that Mushkegowuk Council work toward bringing Constance Lake, Weenusk and Fort Severn First Nations into the Mushkegowuk Council by the next Annual Assembly in or around July, 1996.
