RESOLUTION NO. 1995-10-22
SUBJECT: PAYUKOTAYNO GOOD LIFE PROPOSAL
WHEREAS the proposal to establish Good Life Gathering Centres and the Regional Training Centre for Natural healers and helpers addresses communities desire to bring back harmony and co-operation to the communities through people helping people;
WHEREAS the Mushkegowuk communities recognize that it has the wisdom, strength and desire to help families by utilizing their own resources, their people;
WHEREAS recent government cutbacks have created a void in community supportive services;
WHEREAS the Good Life Gathering Centre and the Regional Training Centre for Natural Healers will fill this void and will ultimately lend to community self-sufficiency, healthier bodies, minds and spirits;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Mushkegowuk Council fully endorses the proposal and supports Payukotayno: James and Hudson Bay Family Services to pursue funding to establish Good Life Gathering Centres in the Mushkegowuk communities and the Regional Training Centre for Natural Healers and Helpers.
