RESOLUTION NO. 1996-08-11
SUBJECT: DUST CONTROL
WHEREAS most of the First Nation roads are gravel roads that create excessive summer dust conditions;
WHEREAS measures taken to reduce dust conditions involve petroleum products and chemical solutions being applied to the roads;
WHEREAS the use of such products have raised health and safety concerns amongst the leadership;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Mushkegowuk Council examine the extent and use of petroleum products and chemical solutions on First Nation roads and recommend to First Nations products that are deemed environmentally friendly.
