RESOLUTION NO.1998-08-11
SUBJECT: NEW POST CREE STUDIES PROPOSAL FINANCING
WHEREAS New Post First Nation has initiated a special project to prepare a college level curriculum on Cree history and culture; and
WHEREAS the New Post Cree Studies Project has begun and Phase One involves preliminary research for the project; and
WHEREAS the New Post Education Services has accessed start-up funds through ISSP (Indian Studies Support Program); and
WHEREAS the New Post Education Services and its working committee will experience a shortfall of funds for completion of the overall project; and
WHEREAS the New Post Education Services, on behalf of New Post First Nation is seeking additional funds to continue work on the Cree Studies Proposal;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that KW (Kiskinnohamakaywi Weecheehitowin), the Mushkegowuk Council and interested First Nation partners consider contributing additional funds to the Cree Studies Project; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mushkegowuk Council assist New Post First Nation in acquiring additional funds to be directed towards the costs associated with the Cree Studies Project.
