RESOLUTION NO. 1999-09-07

LANDS AND RESOURCES COMMISSION

WHEREAS the members of the Mushkegowuk First Nations are in the process of reaffim1ing control over the lands and resources in our Mushkegowuk territory; and

WHEREAS the Mushkegowuk First Nations desire a process whereby they can deal with concerns and issues relating to lands and resources in Mushkegowuk teITitory; and

WHEREAS the Mushkegowuk First Nations wish to exercise control over land and resource developments m Mushkegowuk teITitory; and

WHEREAS the Mushkegowuk First Nations wish to foresee, analyse and monitor the impacts of developments and activities on land and resources; and

WHEREAS the Mushkegowuk First Nations wish to create awareness programs ---outlining the potential impacts of all activities affecting the land and resources of the Mushkegowuk territory;

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Mushkegowuk Chiefs in Assembly direct the Grand Chief and Deputy Grand Chief to establish a Lands and Resources Commission or Workjng Group; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Ten11S of Reference be developed specifically outlining the roles and responsibilities of the Lands and Resources Commission of Workjng Group.
