RESOLUTION NO. 2000-08-09

ONGOING FUNDING FOR PEACEKEEPING PROGRAM IN KASHECHEWAN

WHEREAS the Peacekeepers Program has been established for several years at Kashechewan First Nation; and

WHEREAS the Peacekeepers Program works with Nishnawbe Aski Police Services to provide safety, security to the community members and the enforcement of the First Nation's by­laws; and

WHEREAS funding for the Peacekeepers Program has been difficult to access and maintain on an on-going basis;

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED the Mushkegowuk Chiefs in Assembly support Kashechewan First Nation's eff01is in seeking pennanent funding for its Peacekeeping Program.
