RESOLUTION NO. 2000-08-27
ACCOUNTABILITY OF MUSHKEGOWUK LEADERSIDP
WHEREAS Mushkegowuk Council is the regional government for the Mushkegowuk people and Mushkegowuk territory; and
WHEREAS the leaders of Mushkegowuk Council are accountable to the Mushkegowuk First Nations and the Mushkegowuk people; and
WHEREAS the Mushkegowuk Council nation-building process is expanding the roles and responsibilities of Mushkegowuk leadership;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Mushkegowuk Chiefs in Assembly reaffirm the principle that the leaders of Mushkegowuk Council are accountable to the First Nations and people of the Mushkegowuk Nation; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Mushkegowuk Council leaders are responsible for setting clear policies and guidelines and ensuring good management and reporting in all parts of the Mushkegowuk Council; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mushkegowuk Grand Chief and Deputy Grand Chief and other Mushkegowuk Council leaders continue working to develop more effective methods of responding to and reporting to the First Nations and people of the Mushkegowuk Nation.
