RESOLUTION NO. 2001-09-07

KASHECHEWAN FIRST NATION HOUSING SHORTAGE

WHEREAS Kashechewan First Nation is experiencing a severe housing sho1iage with 130 families currently requiring homes and;

WHEREAS Kashechewan First Nation recognizes the talent and skills of its youth and their potential to assist in dealing with the community's housing shortage and;

WHEREAS Kashechewan First Nation plans to construct fifty (50) housing units in May 2002 and;

WHEREAS Kashechewan First Nation has identified its 2002/03 HRDC funding towards construction and training programs and;

WHEREAS Kashechewan First Nation has identified seven hundred thousand dollars ($700,000) required to establish a carpentry h·aining initiative for youth in the community;

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Mushkegowuk Chiefs in Assembly suppo1i the Kashechewan First Nation to access, through the Mushkegowuk Employment and Training Services, $700,000 required for the carpentry

training uutiative for youth of the Kashechewan First Nation to assist in the development of skills for youth who may in h1m assist in the creation of housing in the community.
