RESOLUTION NO. 2001-09-12
ECONOMIC DEVEI,OPMENT STRATEGY FOR THE FIRST NATIONS OF MUSHKEGOWUK COUNCIL
WHEREAS each community must purchase basic goods for individual and conununity use and;
WHEREAS construction takes place in each con1111wlity to provide housing for the members and the materials are very costly and;
WHEREAS the cost of purchasing food in our communities is much lligher than in many southern cities and;
WHEREAS money spent by commmlity members often does not stay in the community;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Mushkegowuk Chiefs in Assembly work together to canvas ideas for a strategy to purchase or create a company that could supply each conununity with low cost, high quality goods.
FURTHER BE IT RESOLVED that the Mush.kegowuk Chiefs in Assembly consider creating an Advisory Conm1ittee on Economic Development Initiatives to assist the First Nations of Mush.kegowuk Council in identifying
feasible econom1c development opportunities.
