RESOLUTION NO. 2001-09-17
SCHOOL CURRICULUM FOR YOUTH SURVIVAL AND HARVESTING SKILLS PROGRAMS
WHEREAS Mush.kegowuk youth require culturally appropriate, meaningful programs in school settings; and
WHEREAS the introduction of a school curriculum consisting of outdoor cultural outings would allow Mushkegowuk youth to learn and/or practice survival and harvesting skills;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Mushkegowuk Chiefs in Assembly mandate the Omushkego Education to work with the Mushkegowuk Youth Depaitment to develop culturally appropriate educational curriculums which would include outdoor outings and activities aimed at teaching survival and harvesting skills in Mushkegowuk communities; ai1d
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mushkegowuk Chiefs in Assembly support the Mushkegowuk Youth Department, in working with the Omushkego Education, to seek ongoing funding to ensure the establishment and continuity of such a program.
