RESOLUTION NO. 2001-09-20

FIRST NATION ENERGY SERVICES COMPANY

WHEREAS since December 1997, the community of Kashechewan has been responsible for the production of its own electricity, through the Kashechewan Power Authority; and

WHEREAS the Kashechewan Power Authority has proven its ability to successfully manage its operations with ongoing technical support from Five Nations Energy;

WHEREAS Five Nations Development Inc. proposes to develop a regional services company which will be owned by the First Nations of Attawapiskat, Kashechewan and Fort Albany, or their wholly owned local distribution companies; and

WHEREAS the secondary purpose of the regional services company would be to unde1iake elechical contracting in the communities and elsewhere; and

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Mushkegowuk Chiefs in Assembly support the Kashechewan First Nation's request to locate the proposed First Nation Energy Services Company in the community of Kashechewan, Ontario.
