RESOLUTION NO. 2001-09-32
FAR NORTH FIRE MANAGEMENT GROUP
WHEREAS the Mushkegowuk communities require an attack base to serve the northeastern portion of Nislmawbe Aski Nation area; and
WHEREAS the Mushkegowuk conmmnities' population, infrastructure, and assets substantiate a need for this attack base; and
WHEREAS funding for one fire cenh·e and three attack bases have been approved by Nishnawbe Aski Nation and these are targeted to be located in northwestern Ontario;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Mushkegowuk Chiefs in Assembly urge Nislmawbe Aski Nation to view th.is initiative as a Nishnawbe Aski Nation-wide approach and not exclusively a northwestern Nishnawbe Aski Nation approach;
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mushkegowuk Chiefs in Assembly urge Nishnawbe Aski Nation that a northeastern attack base be allocated to our region to be located in Kashechewan, Ontario.
