RESOLUTION NO. 2002-09-10
SUPPORT RESOLUTION FOR MONITORING TRANSPORTATION OF FREIGHT ON WINTER ROAD
WHEREAS Pasico Development Corporation will be making application for funding to construct and maintain the winter road for 2002-2003, and;
WHEREAS Pasico has encountered difficulties with the accurate reporting of the type and weight of cargo being transported by businesses, and;
WHEREAS Pasico has determined to implement a program consisting of a monitored gate to be located in the proximity of the community of Moosonee which will register type and weight of cargo including all operators on the winter road, and;
WHEREAS Pasico Development Corporation collects revenue based upon the weight of cargo being transported to the Mushkegowuk First Nation communities connected to the Winter Road.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the assembled Chiefs and delegates of the Mushkegowuk Council supports Pasico Development Corporation in monitoring transportation of freight on the Winter Road.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Pasico Development Corporation develop and implement a revenue sharing program with the Mush.kegowuk First Nation communities
