WHEREAS FNTB has, to its credit, arranged for bus transportation from surrounding communities to its annual meeting scheduled for September 29, but such transportation is of no assistance to remote Mushkegowuk communities such as Attawapiskat, Kashechewan and Fort Albany; and

WHEREAS Mushkegowuk representatives have been attending meetings at their own expense or the expense of their communities, despite the fact that there is a great shortage of funds or resources in their communities.

Resolution No. 2005-09-16, Page 2

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Mushkegowuk Assembly urge the Far Northeastern Training Board to make every effort to provide financial or air transportation assistance to one or two representatives of each of the Mushkegowuk communities of Attawapiskat, Fort Albany and Kashechewan, as it has provided transportation assistance to other communities, to allow them to attend the September 29 FNTB annual meeting and other meetings.
