Pasico & Feldman Timber Joint Venture
WHEREAS Pasico Development Corporation (Pasico) has been mandated by the Mushkegowuk communities to provide a vehicle for regional economic development; and
WHEREAS Pasico is investigating a variety of opportunities for Business Development for the member communities; and
WHEREAS Pasico has been working closely with Feldman Timber to create a partnership for a Building Supply Company, located in Timmins; and
WHEREAS the new Joint Venture will be owned fifty one (51%) per cent by Pasico; and
WHEREAS it is believed that the Mushkegowuk communities will directly benefit through savings in the purchase or building supplies by volume including a rebate policy of related materials acquired.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Assembly supports the forming of a Joint Venture between Pasico Development Corporation and Feldman Timber;
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a formal signing of the Joint Venture Agreement, if approved by the Council of Chiefs, occur at a location, date and time
