Mushkegowuk Council Nation Building Initiative
WHEREAS we the Mushkegowuk lnninu are a Nation composed of Mushkegowuk local First Nations and individual members of those local First Nations united by language, culture, history, tradition, geography and government; and
WHEREAS the Mushkegowuk· lnninu have been working for years to strengthen and affirm our unity and the organization of the Mushkegowuk Nation including the development of a draft Omushkego Constitution based on the rights, powers and duties of the Mushkegowuk people;
WHEREAS in Resolution No. 2005-03-05, the Chiefs in Assembly mandated the Office of the Grand Chief to continue to advance the Mushkegowuk Nation Building process including development of a process to accommodate the evolving transitional change from that of a corporate structure to that of a political government structure.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Mushkegowuk Chiefs in Assembly hereby mandate the Grand Chief to implement the proposed strategic plan to achieve the separation and clarification of the
corporate and political government roles and responsibilities of Mushkegowuk Council, including the implementation of the approved option for corporate governance and establishment of an Omushkego Pimohtatotakewin.
