Discriminatory Underfunding of Policing

in Mushkegowuk First Nation Communities

WHEREAS Mushkegowuk Council First Nation communities have long experienced a deficiency of policing services that would not be tolerated in non-native communities; and

WHEREAS the primary cause of the policing deficiencies is the systemic underfunding of policing in First Nation communities by the federal and provincial governments;

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that Mushkegowuk Council file human rights complaints in the provincial and federal human rights process based on the systemic underfunding of policing services in Mushkegowuk First Nation communities.
