Onashowewi Nakishkatowin (National Assembly) Procedures
WHEREAS a draft Omushkego Constitution was developed in 2001 after extensive community discussion; and
WHEREAS Resolution 2007-09-24 Declaration of Unit was declared and affirmed "the unity of the Omushkego lnninu, including the protection, maintenance and enhancement of the characteristics which identify us as a unique and proud Omushkego Nation as well as the reinstatement of our inherent right to practice traditional governance within our Omushkego homelands."; and
WHEREAS Mushkegowuk Council is entering its 25th year of existence and there is a clear desire by the Omushkego to continue to develop a regional governance and National structure;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the office of the Kihchionashowewininiw (Grand Chief) (or appropriate designation to be developed by Elders and Cree language experts) shall lead the development and implementation of

new procedures and structures to create a clear distinction between the corporate business of Mushkegowuk Council and the Onashowewi Nakishkatowin (National Assembly) at the 25th Annual Mushkegowuk Assembly. These could include, but are not limited to, such things as processes for decision making, procedures to create legislation, and further measures to distinguish the Onashowewi Nakishkatowin from the usual business of Mushkegowuk Council; and
FURTHER BE IT RESOLVED that these procedures and structures shall be developed as part of setting the stage for the full implementation of an Omushkego National Government.
