First Nations Resource Development Corporation

WHEREAS the traditional homeland of the Mushkegowuk Nation is rich in resources; and

WHEREAS it is important that First Nations have maximum control over the development of our resources, and maximum benefit from that development; and

WHEREAS it is important to use and develop the knowledge of our people;

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Mushkegowuk Assembly mandates the Mushkegowuk Executive to study options for an Aboriginal Resource Development Corporation that would be owned by First Nations, Tribal Councils or First Nation Regional Organizations for the purpose of investigating and possibly developing natural resource projects on economic development opportunities for the employment and financial benefit of First Nations.
