Regional Youth Leadership and Development

WHEREAS on behalf of all Omushkegowuk Youth, the Youth delegates of the 2th Annual Mamowihitowin spoke passionately of the many needs and issues affecting the growth and personal development of the Omushkegowuk Youth; and

WHEREAS the Chiefs and Delegates recognize that in past Mamowihitowin of the Omushkegowuk, serveral Youth related resolutions that support regional youth development initiatives were approved and the implementation of the resolutions is work in progress and remains a recognized priority; and

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that this Mamowihitowin of the Omushkegowuk accepts the offer of Chief Rex Knapaysweet of the Fort Albany First Nation and Moose Cree First Nation Youth Delegate Glibert Cheechoo Jr. to assist with leadership on the key issues of our youth by working with local and regional youth initiatives, including addressing the existing Youth-related Mamowihitowin resolutions; and

BE IT FUTHER RESOLVED that this Mamowihitowin of the Omushkegowuk fully endorse this approach and encourage all Youth service providers to cooperate and collaborate on achieving local and regional Youth initiatives.
