Development of Mushkegowuk First Nation's Housing Strategy

WHEREAS the Mamowihitowin Resolution No. 2011-09-08 responds to our Housing Crisis and a component of the resolution directs Mushkegowuk Council to develop a Regional Housing Strategy or policy and to explore ways to improve the housing crisis by examining alternatives and funding; and

WHEREAS this Mamowihitowin of the Omushkegowuk reaffirms the seriousness of the Housing Crisis and how this deplorable situation is impacting the overall health and social state of the communities; and

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that Mushkegowuk Council will complete Phase 1 of the Housing Strategy where a Strategy document will be completed by January 2013,

BE IT FUTHER RESOLVED that this Mamowihitowin of the Omushkegowuk directs the Mushkegowuk Council to engage the communities and other required expertise to complete a comprehensive Mushkegowuk First Nations Housing Strategy by August 2013.
