Review of Omushkego Regional Organizations
WHEREAS the existence and operation of various regional organizations affiliated with Mushkegowuk Council that are mandated to provide a variety of services within the Mushkegowuk Homelands are created by the Omushkegowuk's treaty rights, and to provide basic needs and services to the Omushkegowuk; and
WHEREAS in many cases, due to government legislation, funding issues, and community growth, the original visions, mandates and service plans of these organizations have been altered over time or have experienced problems with service delivery,
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that this Mamowihitowin of the Omushkegowuk directs the Mushkegowuk Council to establish a small Team/Committee of Chiefs or Chiefs delegates with a mandate to review the Mandates, Mission and Vision Statements, Purpose and Terms of Reference, for each Mushkegowuk affiliated regional entity to review their continued alignment with their founding documents and vision and the needs of the Omushkego; and finding such,
assess the effectiveness of each organization and where necessary, recommend change and improvements for each entity so that we receive appropriate benefit and value from each.
