Resolution for a Health Policy Analyst/ Coordinator
WHEREAS Mushkegowuk Council wishes to provide more effective advisory services to its members to address the challenges of Trauma, substance and alcohol abuse related rehabilitation efforts in Attawapiskat, Kashechewan, Fort Albany, Moose Cree, Taykwa Tagamou, Chapleau Cree and Missanabie Cree First Nations, and;
WHEREAS Mushkegowuk Council expects better coordination in response to the recommendations from the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) and the Peoples Inquiry (Suicide) reports and will consequently support such initiative;
BE IT RESOLVED that in support of addressing the challenges of better health and well-being in our communities that delegates of the Mamowihitowin of Omushkegowuk hereby confirms its support for the hiring of a Health Policy Analyst and the required project funding applications, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Mushkegowuk Council of Chiefs hereby confirms our support for the Regional Economic Development Coordinator along with other relevant staff persons to source funding for staffing the said position; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that we strongly support the establishment of such a position, creation of the job description for the identified position and sourcing of the necessary funding for hire.
