Support for Funding of Information Services Department

WHEREAS, Mushkegowuk Council is a regional organization that represents the political interests of seven member First Nations, and

WHEREAS, the Mushkegowuk Information Services Department (CreeGeo), is a self-funding department and has experienced staff in GIS/lnformation Management to support our First Nations and deliver programming; and

WHEREAS, there is a need to work together at the Regional and Community levels to support projects including, but not limited to GIS & technology education of K-12 students, Camp Chikepak, traditional knowledge gathering and protection, data analysis, security and management;

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that this Mamowihitowin of the Omushkegowuk directs the Information Services Department (CreeGeo) to continue to pursue financial support to fund this department and apply to funding opportunities to continue their work.
