Support for Mineral Development Officer
WHEREAS the Omushkegowuk rights to our lands and resources have existed since time immemorial and belong to us and our children into the future without end; and
WHEREAS the Omushkegowuk have previously entered into a three-year Plans & Permits program with the Ontario Ministry of Northern Development and Mines 2016 -2019 in support of the Mineral Development Advisor (MDA) position at Mushkegowuk Council; and
WHEREAS the MDA work is a much-needed resource to continue to advise the communities of the Omushkego on plans and permits, closure plans, exploration plans, and the new online staking program;
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mushkegowuk Chiefs in Assembly confirms its support for a new three-year agreement with MNDM for the important Mineral Development Advisor program 2019-2022.
