Regional Treaty Awareness Mobile Unit
WHEREAS The Treaty Nations of the Mushkegowuk Asking continue to uphold in the highest honor and scaredness, the Real Treaty 9 Agreement, As Orally Agreed To; and
WHEREAS Immediately after agreeing to the Oral Terms of the Treaty Agreement, the leadership and community members of Treaty Nations of the Mushkegowuk Aski recognized the importance of conducting on-going discussions on the terms of the Treaty to ensure what was promised and agreed to was fully understood; and
WHEREAS In honor and respect of our ancestors who in good faith negotiated and signed the James Bay Treaty, we promise to do our duty to uphold our Scared Treaty Bundle through community awareness and to exercise our Treaty Rights at every opportunity; and
WHEREAS in order to deliver on our duty to provide awareness and understanding of our Treaty Agreement more effectively, the Treaty Nations of the Mushkegowuk Aski require a Treaty Awareness Mobile Unit; and
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that this Mamowihitowin of the Omushkegowuk directs the Office of the Grand Chief to establish a Regional Treaty Awareness Mobile Unit for the purposes of providing Treaty awareness and developing Treaty Implementation strategies
