Support for Expanded NAPS Services

WHEREAS Mushkegowuk relies on policing services provided by Nishnawbe Aski Policing Services; and

WHEREAS the incidence of drug and alcohol related crime is on the rise in our communities; and

WHEREAS the incidence of domestic violence is on the rise; and

WHEREAS mental health issues are at crisis levels and the policing response to crisis has increased;

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that this Mamowihitowin of the Omushkegowuk fully supports Nishnawbe Aski Police Service as they enhance and expand their programming services for the Mushkegowuk First Nation communities they serve;

BE IF FURTHER RESOLVED that this Mamowihitowin of the Omushkegowuk encourages NAPS support on Resolution 2017-09-17 (Task Force for Healthier Communities)
